WHY PUBLISH WITH CLASS ACT BOOKS

Why shouldn't you just self-publish and accomplish about the same thing?

In some ways you could be right, but you wouldn't receive the care we give our books. We do edit, it is quite a thorough process. The books are copyedited as well and formatted. Our cover art is excellent as is the web presence. Your book is released in print and ebook formats.
We do not charge you a set up fee or charge for an ISBN if your book is accepted. We are a royalty paying publisher.
At the present time the books are in six retail stores and also available on the website in both print and ebooks. Through the retailers your book is available for readers on their IPhone and ITouch, and any handheld reader. Of course, having the ISBN puts the print books in BIP (Books in Print) through Bowkers, which makes them all available in any book store in the US and internationally. Class Act Books is growing every day and will continue to expand.
We also give guidance and support to our authors in all areas of publishing, and they to themselves.
So why would you want to submit to Class Act Books? Guess it depends what you want for your book.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The digital age brings new challenges for aspiring authors. Submission of a manuscript is quick, just attach your file to an email and send. The test of the process is doing it correctly. We welcome your submissions, but we request you follow our guidelines. This process tells us many things, one of which is your professionalism. Follow our guidelines and you may have made one step in the direction of publication.

CURRENT CALL FOR SUBMISSION

Romance and Erotica Romance Novels - We are always looking for those novels in any romance genre and sub-genres that will stir a reader's heart. Write us those sweet to sassy hot romances, we love to hear new author voices that can write characters that come alive off those pages. Send in your best novel from 25k to 75k. Please follow the guidelines on this page.

TO SUBMIT

We request an email cover letter with your completed RTF format manuscript attached and sent to: mailto:classactbks@  gmail.com  (without the spaces after the @). The manuscript must be one file. DO NOT send multiple files. We will discard your submission.

The subject of your email will be the following:

SUBMISSION: NAME OF YOUR BOOK

FORMAT THE MANUSCRIPT

DO NOT format the manuscript with styles, borders, headers. No bold, no huge letters. Just a nice 12 point font, single spaced, left justified with paragraph indent at .3 (do not use the space bar).

Use italics, DO NOT underline to indicate italic or use single quote.

DO NOT use extra spaces between paragraphs.

Do not use the enter key or space bar to make a new page, control+enter will do this.

Use an em dash for breaks/continuance within a sentence.

An ellipsis is three dots…no spaces before, after or between. This is a big pet peeve at Class Act Books!

Use ~*~ for scene breaks. Do not add a space above or below the scene break, just between the ~*~.

Save your manuscript in RTF format, this format is safe for all computers, if you don’t use RTF we will not open your manuscript. That’s right, it will be deleted without being looked at, so please, use RTF when you save.

That is all that is necessary. When it comes to formatting, less is far better than more.

THE COVER LETTER

Many writers find creating a cover letter a difficult endeavor. We will make it easier for you by listing exactly what we want.

A block of information that states the following right up front

o    Your real name

o    Pen name, if using one

o    Your address and phone number

o    Email address! All of our correspondence is by email

o    Title of your book

o    State if the book is for Class Act and the Sensual Rating your feel goes with your novel.

o    Genre

o    Word count

o    Past publishing credit if you have some. We love new authors, but do polish your work.

A short blurb, a couple of paragraphs at the most. Look at our website and peruse the blurbs beside our books. This is your sales tool to connect with the reader and make them want to purchase your book.

 Now, just add…the dreaded SYNOPSIS!

o    Tell the basics of your complete story, just a couple of paragraphs will do. We want it all, don’t skip the ending!

We are looking for full novels between 25,000 to 75,000 words, the word count depends on the genre. Know your genre. The readers' life styles now demand smaller, well written novels.

NO PORNOGRAPHY, our erotic romances are just that, ROMANCES. They show detailed love scenes in good taste. Think of erotic romances as a normal romance story with graphic love scenes.

MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS, no we will not accept them.
